Lesson 2.2: Timekeeping and Shift Attendance
Show Up. On Time. Every Time.
We can’t stress this enough punctuality is everything. When you accept a shift, you’re committing to being there on time, in uniform, and ready to work. Being late, not showing up, or cancelling last-minute causes major problems for the entire team, the client, and DIMA’s reputation. We run on reliability.
What We Expect
Be Early, Not Just On Time
We expect you to arrive at least 15 minutes early for every shift. This gives you time to find the location, check in, and be fully ready before the job starts.
Confirm Your Shifts Promptly
When shifts are offered via WhatsApp or another system, confirm them as soon as possible. If you don’t reply, you risk losing the shift to someone else.
Cancel Responsibly
If something happens and you genuinely can’t make it, you must contact us immediately — not an hour before your shift, not after it’s started.
The earlier we know, the more chance we have of covering it.
No-Shows = No More Shifts
If you fail to show up without informing us, it may result in:
- Being removed from future shifts
- Not being offered work again
- Loss of client trust in DIMA and our team
What Counts As a Valid Excuse?
- Medical emergency (with proof where possible)
- Unexpected, serious personal situations
- Public transport failure with evidence
- Childcare emergency (again, needs to be communicated early)
Excuses like “slept in,” “couldn’t be bothered,” or just disappearing? That’s a quick way to get blacklisted.
Who to Contact
- Always message your DIMA point of contact as soon as possible if you’re running late or need to cancel.
- If it’s less than 2 hours before your shift, you must call. A text is not good enough.
