Lesson 3.1: WhatsApp Groups and Staff Chat
Stay Connected, Stay Professional
At DIMA Group, WhatsApp is our main tool for shift communication. It’s how we offer work, confirm details, and keep everyone informed. But just like any workplace tool, it needs to be used properly.
Whether you’re in a main staff group or a temporary event group, professionalism matters — even in a casual chat app.
Why We Use WhatsApp
- Fast communication for shift offers and updates
- Last-minute changes or location info
- Reminders for timesheet deadlines, uniform requirements, etc.
- Sharing shift confirmations and check-ins
If you’re not checking your messages regularly, you might miss out on work.
WhatsApp Etiquette (Read This Twice)
✅ DO:
- Check messages daily
- Reply promptly when shifts are offered
- Keep your tone polite and clear
- Use thumbs up ✅ or short replies to confirm receipt
- Ask relevant questions if unsure about a shift
❌ DON’T:
- Use slang, jokes, or send memes in work groups
- Argue, complain, or challenge shift allocations publicly
- Go off-topic — keep it work-related
- Share screenshots of chats outside the group
- Message late at night unless it’s urgent or shift-related
If you’re disrespectful, inappropriate, or unprofessional in chat — you can be removed from groups and risk not being offered more shifts.
Quick Tips for Group Chat Success
- Read messages before asking questions — the answer is often already there
- If the group is busy, use @ to tag your supervisor directly
- Save the group number to your phone so messages don’t go missing
- Silence the chat if it’s noisy — but don’t mute notifications altogether
One-to-One Messages
If you need to:
- Cancel a shift
- Ask about payment
- Report a concern
Message your shift contact privately — don’t post it in the group.
