Lesson 4.2 – Personal Appearance
Professional appearance
Maintaining a professional appearance is a key part of representing DIMA Group. Your appearance should reflect professionalism, confidence, and respect for clients and members of the public.
You are expected to present yourself in a clean, tidy, and professional manner at all times while on duty.
Personal hygiene and grooming
You must:
• Maintain good personal hygiene
• Ensure hair is clean, neat, and kept under control
• Keep facial hair tidy and well maintained
• Avoid strong perfumes or aftershaves
Your overall appearance must not detract from your professional role or create discomfort for others.
Jewellery and accessories
Jewellery must be kept to a minimum while on duty.
You must:
• Avoid excessive or distracting jewellery
• Remove items that may pose a safety risk
• Ensure any permitted jewellery is discreet and professional
Accessories must not interfere with your duties or present a safety hazard.
Tattoos and piercings
Visible tattoos and piercings must be professional in appearance.
You must:
• Ensure tattoos are not offensive or inappropriate
• Cover tattoos if instructed to do so by management or client requirements
• Remove or minimise visible piercings where required
Client specific requirements must always be followed.
General presentation standards
Your appearance must remain professional throughout your shift.
You must not:
• Appear untidy or unkempt
• Wear unauthorised clothing or accessories
• Alter your uniform or appearance in a way that undermines professionalism
Failure to maintain appropriate appearance standards may result in removal from duty or disciplinary action.
