Lesson 7.8: First Aid Awareness

First aid on site

DIMA Group is committed to ensuring appropriate first aid arrangements are in place at all workplaces. As a Door Supervisor, you may be one of the first people to respond when someone is injured or becomes unwell.

You are not expected to provide first aid unless you are trained and authorised to do so.

Your responsibilities regarding first aid

You must:
• Know who the designated First Aider or Appointed Person is on site
• Know where first aid equipment is located
• Summon assistance promptly when required
• Act calmly and responsibly in medical situations

You must not attempt to provide treatment beyond your level of training.

Responding to injuries or illness

If someone is injured or becomes unwell:
• Ensure the area is safe
• Contact the site First Aider or Appointed Person
• Call emergency services if required
• Follow site emergency procedures
• Provide reassurance while waiting for assistance

Recording injuries

All injuries, regardless of severity, must be reported.

You must:
• Inform management
• Record the incident using C247
• Cooperate with any follow up or investigation

Accurate reporting helps identify risks and improve safety arrangements.

First aid equipment

First aid kits must be kept accessible and fully stocked. If you notice that first aid equipment is missing, damaged, or incomplete, you must report this to management.
