Lesson 1.2 – Professional Standards & Behaviour
Professional conduct at DIMA Group
As an SIA Door Supervisor, you are a representative of DIMA Group at all times while on duty. Your behaviour, attitude, and professionalism directly affect the reputation of the company and the confidence of our clients and customers.
You are expected to conduct yourself in a professional, respectful, and responsible manner at all times while working for DIMA Group.
Professional standards apply:
• While on shift
• While on client premises
• When interacting with customers, staff, and members of the public
• When representing DIMA Group in any capacity
Expected standards of behaviour
All staff must:
• Be punctual and reliable
• Attend shifts fit for work
• Follow reasonable instructions from management
• Treat colleagues, clients, and customers with respect
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Act honestly and with integrity
• Work cooperatively as part of a team
You must only accept shifts that you are able and willing to complete. Failure to attend a confirmed shift without following correct procedures may lead to disciplinary action.
Conduct that is not acceptable
The following behaviours are not acceptable and may result in disciplinary action:
• Aggressive, abusive, or threatening behaviour
• Discrimination, harassment, or bullying
• Failure to follow company policies or Assignment Instructions
• Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Misuse of company systems or client property
• Any behaviour that brings DIMA Group or a client into disrepute
Accountability and responsibility
You are personally responsible for your actions while on duty. Claiming lack of knowledge of policies or procedures is not an acceptable defence if guidance has been provided.
If you are unsure about any aspect of your role, expected behaviour, or site requirements, you must seek guidance from management before proceeding.
DIMA Group encourages staff to ask questions, raise concerns, and request clarification when needed.
Consequences of failing to meet standards
Failure to meet professional standards may result in:
• Informal guidance or retraining
• Removal from a site
• Formal disciplinary action
• Termination of employment in serious cases
