Lesson 3.2 – Absence, Lateness & Call-Off Procedure
Attendance expectations
DIMA Group expects all staff to attend their scheduled shifts as agreed. Reliable attendance is essential to maintaining client confidence and safe site operations.
You must only accept shifts that you are able to attend and complete.
Reporting absence
If you are unable to attend a shift, you must notify DIMA Group as early as possible.
You must:
• Personally contact management
• Give as much notice as possible
• Provide a clear reason for your absence
You must not rely on other staff members to report your absence on your behalf unless specifically authorised.
Failure to report an absence correctly may be treated as unauthorised absence.
Reporting lateness
If you are running late for a shift, you must notify management immediately.
You must:
• Make contact before your shift start time where possible
• Provide an estimated time of arrival
• Follow any instructions given by management
Repeated lateness may result in disciplinary action.
Sickness absence
If you are absent due to sickness, you may be required to provide further information or documentation depending on the length of absence.
You must follow all sickness reporting procedures as instructed by management.
Failure to follow procedures
Failure to attend a shift without notifying management, or repeatedly failing to follow absence and lateness procedures, may result in:
• Removal from future shifts
• Disciplinary action
• Termination of employment in serious cases
