Lesson 6.2 – Raising Concerns & Whistleblowing

Speaking up at DIMA Group

DIMA Group encourages all staff to raise concerns where something does not feel right. Speaking up helps protect colleagues, clients and members of the public, and supports a safe and professional working environment.

You will not be penalised for raising a genuine concern in good faith.

What should be reported

You should report concerns relating to:
• Unsafe working practices
• Breaches of company policies
• Criminal or unlawful activity
• Abuse, harassment, or discrimination
• Serious misconduct or unethical behaviour
• Risks to health, safety, or welfare

Concerns should be raised as early as possible.

How to raise a concern

Concerns should normally be raised with:
• Your line manager
• A senior member of management

If you feel unable to raise the concern through normal channels, you may use the whistleblowing process.

Whistleblowing

Whistleblowing allows you to report serious concerns confidentially and without fear of retaliation.

You may use whistleblowing procedures if:
• The issue is serious
• Normal reporting routes are not appropriate
• You believe the matter is being ignored

All whistleblowing reports will be treated seriously and investigated appropriately.

Protection from retaliation

DIMA Group does not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.

Any attempt to discourage reporting or to treat a reporting individual unfairly may result in disciplinary action.
