Lesson 7.1 – Health & Safety Responsibilities

Health and safety at DIMA Group

DIMA Group is committed to ensuring, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety, welfare and wellbeing of all employees, clients, visitors and members of the public.

Health and safety is everyone’s responsibility. As an SIA Door Supervisor, you play a key role in maintaining a safe working environment.

Your responsibilities

You are required to:
• Take reasonable care of your own health and safety
• Take reasonable care of others affected by your actions
• Follow company policies, procedures, and site rules
• Follow Assignment Instructions and risk assessments
• Use equipment and PPE correctly
• Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and incidents promptly

You must not ignore unsafe situations or behaviours.

Working safely on client premises

When working on client premises, you must:
• Follow site safety rules and procedures
• Familiarise yourself with emergency arrangements
• Work in accordance with site risk assessments
• Not interfere with safety equipment or systems

You must cooperate with both DIMA Group and client management to maintain safety.

Reporting safety concerns

If you identify a health and safety concern, you must:
• Take immediate action where safe to do so
• Report the issue to management as soon as possible
• Record incidents or hazards using company systems

Failing to report safety concerns may place others at risk and may result in disciplinary action.

Personal accountability

You are personally responsible for complying with health and safety requirements. Deliberate or reckless disregard for safety procedures may result in removal from duties or further action.
